Executive Director
Dragomir Tzanev is Executive Director of Center for Energy Efficiency EnEffect and official representative of Municipal Energy Efficiency Network EcoEnergy – Bulgaria. Coordinator of the successfully completed and BUILD UP Skills Bulgaria, BUILD UP Skills EnerPro (IEE), Train-to-NZEB, Fit-to-NZEB, nZEB Roadshow (H2020), MEMS and CONGREGATE (EUKI) projects, as well as of the ongoing EXCITE, BeSMART (H2020), BUILDUPSkillsBG2030 and SHEERenov+ (LIFE) projects. Team leader for EnEffect in more than 30 international cooperation projects. Member of the Advisory Board of the International Passive House Conference and of the UNECE Group of Experts on Energy Efficiency. Author of a series of publications and lecturer at numerous international conferences in the field of sustainable energy development, education and training on energy efficiency and RES in buildings, principles of passive and nearly zero-energy buildings, and municipal energy planning.

Arch. Zdravko Genchev, PhD

Chairman of the Management Board
Graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Higher Engineering and Construction Institute. He has led design and research teams, specialized in residential architecture, housing policy and energy efficiency in Italy, England, Denmark, USA, etc. He has worked as editor-in-chief of the magazine. "Architecture, Head of the Department of Housing Policy at the Ministry of Territorial Development and Housing Policy, Director General of the National Centre for Territorial Development and Housing Policy. Since 1993 he has been the Executive Director of the Energy Efficiency Centre EnEffect. He has more than 200 publications in national and foreign publications, participates in international forums as a lecturer. He is Vice-Chairman of the Steering Committee of the UNECE Energy Efficiency 21 Project.

Pavel Manchev

Pavel Manchev

Member of the Management Board of EnEffect
Graduated from the Karl Marx Institute of Economics, majoring in Computer Processing of Economic Information in 1978. He has worked in our and foreign companies in project development and management. Since 1995 he has been working at EnEffect as a chief program coordinator. He is a specialist in foreign investment and energy efficiency project development. He assists the municipalities of the EcoEnergy network in the development and financing of training and investment projects. In the period 2004 - 2008 he was the manager of EnEffect-Consult Ltd. From August 2008 until the end of 2014 he worked at EnEffect as Deputy Director.

Kamen Simeonov

Kamen Simeonov

Project Manager
Kamen Simeonov – Senior expert at EnEffect with 20-years’ experience in environmental, energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. He is a certified energy auditor of industrial systems since 2005 and has participated in many energy audits in industry and buildings. Mr. Simeonov has been project manager of national and international projects in the field of energy efficiency, utilization of biomass, climate change. Key qualifications of Mr. Simeonov are projects’ identification in energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, energy auditing of industrial enterprises and buildings, projects development and management, financial engineering, business plans development and evaluation, climate change projects.

Dr. Maria Manolova

Project Manager
In 2010 Maria Manolova graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Geography from St. Kliment Ohridski", Faculty of Geology and Geography. In 2012 she received her Master's degree in Geography - Regional Geo-energy Resources and Strategies. In February 2014 she was accepted as a full-time PhD student in the scientific specialty "Economic and Social Geography - Regional Geo-energy Resources and Strategies" at the Department of Regional and Political Geography, Faculty of Geology and Geography, Sofia University "St. Kliment Kliment".  In 2017 she defended her PhD in the field of Earth Sciences (Economic and Social Geography - Regional Geo-energy Resources and Strategies) at the Department of Regional and Political Geography, Sofia University. The topic of the defended dissertation is "Energy planning as a key tool for sustainable development of municipalities". 

In the period 2012-2017 he worked in the field of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency and in particular - research on the potential of biomass in Bulgaria, pre-investment studies for the construction of biomass plants, studies of energy planning models in municipalities, preparation of analyses of the potential of renewable energy sources (including GIS), work on projects and assessments for the implementation of investment intentions in the field of EE, RES, ESCO, etc.

Maria is a specialist in sustainable energy planning in municipalities. Since September 2017 she has been working at EnEffect. She assists in the preparation of energy efficiency and RES plans and programmes of the municipalities of the EcoEnergy network. Coordinates and supports the organization of conferences and events related to EcoEnergy and EnEffect activities.

Teodora Stanisheva - has 4 years of experience in the field of climate and energy projects, and is the PR expert of EnEffect, responsible for communication and dissemination activities, press and media coverage of events, social media accounts maintenance. Teodora has experience in the development of training materials, workshops, including guides on municipal planning and energy management, communication, and team interactions.

Borislav Ivanov

Borislav Ivanov

Project Manager
In 2016, he obtained a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from University College London (UCL). He has worked for over 4 years in France and Bulgaria as project manager and investment supervisor on various construction projects. For over 2 years he has been working as a project manager at EnEffect in the field of energy efficiency in buildings, managing and supporting the implementation of a number of European projects. He has also been actively involved in the preparation of a large number of building energy audits.

Ira Ivanova

Ira Ivanova

Project Manager
Ira Ivanova received her master’s degree in building science and energy efficient design of buildings from the Technical University of Vienna. She has six- year working experience as architectural technician and coordinator of planning and construction processes with the use Building Information Modeling (BIM). Her professional day-to-day activities she administered in an interdisciplinary team consisting of building engineers and physicists, with whom she designed building solutions and construction details to achieve better energy performance. In the summer of 2022 Ira joined the EnEffect team and since fall of 2022 she is part of a group of engineers, environmental specialists and architects teaching an elective on Circular Economy in Construction at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Sofia.

Antonia Novakova has a bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering, and in 2022 she holds her master’s degree in Economics- "Energy Markets and Services" at the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". She has more than 15 years of professional experience in project management and strategic planning at the local level. The last 10 years she has held various positions in Local Authority administration, improving her expertise in the field of climate change. She participated in several forums and trainings, as a lecturer and a trainer. As of December 2022, she is a part of the Center for Energy Efficiency EnEffect team.

Stanislav Andreev

Manager of EnEffect-Consult Ltd.
Stanislav Andreev is manager of EnEffect-Consult Ltd. He has been working for more than 15 years in the field of energy and energy efficiency and has practical experience in the identification, assessment, implementation and verification of the results of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. He has participated in conducting thermal balance tests of steam turbines in some of the largest power plants in Bulgaria, including NPP Kozlduy, TPP Varna, TPP Ruse-East. He has prepared assessments for the utilization of landfill gas potential from municipal solid waste landfills. Participated as an expert and team leader in a number of international projects under Horizon 2020, LIFE and EUKI programmes. He has been a speaker at national and international conferences and trainings in energy management, energy audits, energy efficiency, municipal energy planning and green public procurement.

Graduated from 138 "Prof. V. Zlatarsky" in 1994. She worked at EnEffect for more than 10 years, first as a technical assistant and then as a secretary. She actively participates in the organization of all events related to the Center - conferences, seminars, workshops, etc. She is responsible for flight and hotel bookings at home and abroad. She works with translation companies and supervises the exchange of translated materials. Prepares orders and ensures availability of all types of office supplies necessary for the smooth running of the work process. Since March 2008, she has also been involved in updating the Internet pages maintained by EnEffect.

Alexander Stankov

Manager of EnEffect Design
Aleksander Stankov - 10-years’ experience in energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. He graduated in 2012 the Technical University of Sofia with M.Sc.Degree in "Thermal Engineering". Since 2009 he has been working with EnEffect Consult SPLtd. as technical assistant and since 2011 as a HVAC engineer. Certified Passive House Designer. He has participated in numerous projects on energy efficiency improvement in buildings and industrial systems. Team member and active trainer in IEE and H2020 projects BUILD UP Skills EnerPro, Train-to-NZEB and Fit-to-NZEB; leading trainer in the Bulgarian Building Knowledge Hub with more than 50 training courses conducted.

Ralitsa Yordanova

Registered Architect
Arch. Yordanova holds a Master's degree from the Politecnico di Milano in the Department of Sustainable Architecture and Landscape Design and a Bachelor's degree from VIA University College, Denmark, specializing in low-energy buildings.

With the key participation of Arch. Yordanova in 2017 was opened the Building Knowledge Hub on Low Energy Buildings in UACEG, Sofia as part of the Train-to-nZEB project. Ralitsa has also taken part in the Build Up Skills, Fit-to-nZEB and nZEB Roadshow projects.

She has experience in the field of near-zero energy buildings (nZEB), resilient architecture and sustainable building approaches, urban planning and high-rise buildings.

Arch. Yordanova is a lecturer as a part of the Passive House Institute courses held in Bulgaria since 2017. She teaches as part of the Energy Efficiency in Construction Masters programme in the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Sofia, Bulgaria. Ralitsa is currently and active lecturer on nZEB seminars and events, ranging from lectures to professionals to holding classes to school students.

Her work is also published in Dr Graham Cairns book Housing of the future: Alternative Approaches for Tomorrow.
