In the framework of the discussion meeting "Mayors Speak", on 8 July EcoEnergy will announce its limited competition for a municipal project in the field of sustainable energy and climate implemented in the period 01.01.2021 - 30.06.2022. The competition is open to EcoEnergy member municipalities. It is organised in partnership with the Energy Efficiency Centre EnEffect, ASER, FEEVI and others. 

The competition aims to promote the work of municipalities in the field of energy efficiency and RES and to reward those municipalities that strive and achieve the highest and most sustainable results. The awarded projects will be published as good practices that can encourage other municipalities to follow.

Requirements:

Municipal energy efficiency projects, initiatives and plans implemented in the period 01.01.2021 - 30.06.2022 are eligible to apply:

(a) Projects (for individual sites or groups of sites)

(b) Enhanced citizen participation initiatives

(c) Energy Efficiency Plans

The necessary data for the applied projects, initiatives and plans are specified in the application forms (Application Form and Information Material Preparation Form), which will be published on the OMEE Ecoenergy website (ecoenergy-bg.net). Participants will also be provided with support forms with instructions for completion.

Jury and prize fund:

Entries will be reviewed and evaluated by an independent jury selected by OMEE EcoEnergy and its non-profit partners. Judging will take place in two stages.

(a) The first stage will assess the compliance of the applications with the conditions of the call and their eligibility. Based on this first review, the jury may ask the participants questions or requests for further clarifications. A period of one week will be allowed for answers and further clarifications.

(b) The second stage of the review will take place after receipt of the answers and additional clarifications and will end with a final evaluation and ranking of the submitted applications. The number of prizes and their amounts will be determined by the jury, taking into account the wishes of the participants in the competition, announced during the application process.

The prizes will be awarded at a public event attended by the announcer and its partners. The event will be webcast live. A recording of the event will be published on EnEffect's YouTube channel. The results of the competition will be published in the publications and communication channels of the announcing partners.

Closing date for submissions: 31 August 2022.

Closing date: 1-10 September 2022.

Jurying: 10th to 30th September 2022.
